The Nativity will celebrate two services on Christmas Eve, and one on Christmas Day. Both Christmas Eve services will be live-streamed.
Our 4 o’clock service
is full of energy. We do a count-down to Christmas as we light the candles in the Advent Wreath. We’ll set-up the crèche, tell the Christmas story, celebrate the first Eucharist of Christmas, sing carols, and rejoice.
The order of service for 4 o’clock is available here; you’ll want to keep it handy to sing along!
The live-stream of the 4 o’clock service can be found here; watch at 4 or any time afterwards!
Our 8 o’clock service
is more solemnly splendid. Against the dark of the outside, the church is full of candles. The choir leads us in carols; the rector offers a Christmas reflection, and we conclude by singing Silent Night in candle-light.
The order of service for 8 o’clock is available here.
The live-stream of the 8 o’clock service can be found here; watch at 8, or any time afterwards!
However you celebrate, may the joy and wonder of God choosing to make God’s home with us be yours! Happy Christmas!
Speaking about this festival, Sundays and Seasons observes:
In winter’s deepest night, we welcome the light of the Christ child. Isaiah declares that the light of the long-promised king will illumine the world and bring endless peace and justice. Paul reminds us that the grace of God through Jesus Christ brings salvation to all people. The angels declare that Jesus’ birth is good and joyful news for everyone, including lowly shepherds. Filled with the light that shines in our lives, we go forth to share the light of Christ with the whole world.
